Rose Lavelle is a Cincinnati-based soccer player. At age 5, she began playing soccer in coed youth leagues of the YMCA. She didn't smile, celebrate or even celebrate when she scored her very first goal. Instead she just continued to play the game. She went on to play soccer for several clubs in the area, including Cincinnati United Premier Soccer Club. She also played college soccer for the University of Wisconsin.
Lavelle grew into a Cincinnati native and attended Mount Notre Dame High School. Later she was awarded a scholarship by the University of Wisconsin. She now plays for the Washington Spirit of the NWSL. Neil Bradford, a Cincinnati Soccer trainer helped Lavelle discover her passion for soccer.

Lavelle was a member of the United States' women's national soccer team at the youth and senior level. She was named the Big Ten's top midfielder in November 2015. NSCAA gave her the honor of being first-team American. Lavelle also played for the Dayton Dutch Lions in the USL W-League in 2014 and the Seattle Sounders Women in the W-League in 2015. Lavelle graduated college and joined Washington Spirit. She then returned to Dayton for the start of the 2016 Women's Premier Soccer League season.

Rose Lavelle, a Big Ten midfielder of year, won the award in December 2015. Rose Lavelle was also selected to play on the U.S. Women's National Team but did not make it onto the game-day roster. That's when her frustration began to build. She felt like she was not making the right progress and wasn't in the best shape for the rigors of playing for the national team. Through a meeting she had with Coach Wilkins, she was finally able to make progress.
Rose Lavelle, in addition to playing for the Badgers soccer team, is an active member of the university’s community service programs. Rose Lavelle has been involved in Wish Upon a Badger Experience (women's soccer) and Thank-A-Thon (youth soccer clinics). She has also become a brand ambassador for the premium light beer FLIGHT by Yuengling.
She was a key player in the U.S. Women's National Team
Rose Lavelle was born in Cincinnati, Ohio. At 15 years of age, she was a key player in the U.S. Women's National Team. She played at the SheBelieves Cup in the Czech Republic. The USWNT won the match 0-0 but they were outshot 18-6 by their opponents. Rose Lavelle was named Budweiser Woman of the Match.

Lavelle was injured in a friendly match against Australia in June 2017. However, she was able to return to the USWNT in time for the final match. She showed a lot of creativity throughout tournament. Both her teammates as well as her coaches praised her for being a breakout player.
Lavelle has participated in the World Cup for America. She made her World Cup debut with Thailand, but she did not play against Chile. She was later back against Sweden, and she helped the United States to press its attacks.
