Now that we have a quarter-of the games completed, we can look at the WNBA stats. Although standings don’t actually measure individual player performance we can still make predictions based in the past. And you never know, you might be surprised by some of the numbers. Here are some of the most important stats from the WNBA.

Sabrina Ionescu was the first WNBA player with a 30-point triple-double

Ionescu made history last season by becoming the first player in WNBA to score 30 points while also registering a Triple-Double. She was also the first WNBA participant to record double-doubles across three different seasons. In the offseason, she rehabilitated her speed and strength in preparation for the 2022 season. After undergoing an ankle injection, she felt ready to start training camp. She was not a rookie and had yet get to know her teammates.

Liberty is led by Kelsey Plum in assists per games

After a record-breaking season last year, Kelsey Plum is expected to lead the Liberty this year in assists per match. To lead the team, the 5-foot-8 guard averaged 5.4 assists per match. Her impressive stats are no surprise, as she leads all league players with 19.6 per game. In fact, she is tied for the league lead in assists with Alyssa Thomas. Plum, who made her debut in the WNBA All-Star match, was awarded MVP. She also set a record with 12 threes.


Parker's history of injuries

DeVante Peterson, the 14th overall pick in the rookie season of the Miami Dolphins, became a wide receiver. But he was sidelined for the first half of the season after injuring his foot during a practice. Parker required surgery to fix his foot and missed seven matches. His injury history grew to be a significant nagging issue, especially at the start of his NFL career. Parker tore the scar tissue of his left leg after surgery. He missed three preseason game, including one in which he was injured.

WNBA standings

It's never too late to start looking at the WNBA standings. Six teams are included in the playoffs that begin on August 17th. The Chicago Sky Aces (and the Las Vegas Aces) have already secured their first two seeds. The Sun, Mystics, Dream and Dream remain in the running to win the fourth or fifth seeds. A number of other teams are also in the mix, including New York Liberty (Dallas Wings), Los Angeles Sparks (Sparks), and Dallas Wings (New York).

Ionescu's triple-double

Ionescu's tripledouble was a milestone for the WNBA. She scored 31 point, grabbed 13 boards, and provided 10 assists in the 116–98 victory over Las Vegas Aces. Her triple-double is remarkable on its own but the fact that she did not turn the ball over only makes it more impressive. Ionescu is the first player in the WNBA to record a triple double, which is a major milestone for the league.
