Many Americans were surprised by her decision, especially since it came at a time when tensions existed between the two countries. Many even called her traitor. Her decision to represent her mother's country was unpopular and society treated her differently if she had stayed in the United States.
Feminism
This study aims to explore the prevalence of feminist ideologies in women's athletic advertising. Although it is a small sample, it can give insight into the female audience for athletic products and the role feminism plays. It might inspire additional research. But, a larger sample might produce more robust results. Additional research may be necessary to determine the relationship between feminisms and athletic values.

The beauty and strength of Asian female athletes is often the focus of news reports. This comment has been a constant feature of Asian-American Olympics coverage. Despite stereotypes, Asian Americans excel in many other sports.

Asian American women have been making their way to the Olympics, and they've been scrutinized by fans and the national team. Zhu Yi has been mocked recently for falling during a team event. Zhu, who gave up her American citizenship in order to compete for China, "stole” the spot from a Chinese-born runner.

Sports have a complicated history. Despite the fact that most American female athletes are white, some Asian women have excelled in sports. Chinese athletes have been the most well-known and successful in non-Asia sports. However, there have been many Asian women who were unlucky despite their incredible talent and drive.
Status
