In this article, we will examine the women's flyweight division in UFC. We will also review Shevchenko’s flawless record and Calvillo’s rise to the top, who is aiming to take on higher-ranked opponents. We'll also be looking at Jedrzejczyk defending his title.

Women's flyweight is defeated by women's ufc

The women's flyweight division is one of the newest in the UFC, and it's growing quickly. The division has two champions at the moment, Nicco Monteno and Valentina Schevchenko. Montano is Chickasaw, Navajo and Hispanic and fell in love with MMA early on. She has won four straight bouts and is now coming off a first round submission win against Joanne Wood.

Shevchenko's impeccable record in UFC

Valentina Shevchenko (UFC women's flyweight champ) is the current champion. She is now 22-3 with six victories, and only one loss. She is considered one of the world's best Muay Thai fighters, and has beaten four former UFC champions.

Calvillo's step up to fight higher-ranked opponents

Calvillo made the decision to fight higher-ranked opponents after struggling in her last three fights. Calvillo started from the 56th%ile on DKFP. She defeated Jessica Andrade and Katlyn Clhookagian before falling to Nina Nunes 3 times in succession. Calvillo isn't ranked anymore but she has the potential of improving her MMA career.

Jedrzejczyk's title defence

Joanna Jedrzejczyk (Polish mixed martial artist) is an example of this. For five years she has competed in UFC. Jedrzejczyk was born in kickboxing. In 2006, she lost her third straight kickboxing match to Valentina Shchenko, former UFC champion. This will be the first time she defends her title in UFC.

Calvillo's professional career

UFC records for Cynthia Calvillo are disappointing. She's currently on an ugly three-fight losing streak in the UFC and another loss could be her end. Although she is 35-years old, she is one of UFC's top flyweights. But her career isn’t as bright as it seems.

Tracy Cortez's career

Tracy Cortez began her journey to UFC as a child in Arizona. She was born to immigrant parents and was the only child in her family. In her early years, she was not allowed to participate in sports. She was interested in physical therapy and interior design, but eventually turned to mixed martial arts. It has been a major part of her daily life.
