Washington Mystics vs. Seattle Storm
The Washington Mystics play the Seattle Storm in the WNBA Championship 2018, finals. Storm is back in the Finals, eight years after their absence. The team lost Lauren Jackson but has restocked their lineup with Jewell and Breanna Loyd.
The league was led by the Seattle Storm in 3-point accuracy during the regular season. The Mystics were in second place with 29.8%. This precision carried into the playoffs.

Breanna Stewart wins WNBA Finals MVP award
Breanna Steward, a Seattle Storm defender, won the WNBA Finals MVP award. She led her team to victory by scoring an average of 28.3 and 7.6 points per game. Her play was instrumental in the Storm's 2020 league title win. With champagne in hand, she showed her MVP award. She also wore her celebratory glasses and threw green-and-gold confetti at Sue Bird, Seattle Storm general manager.
Stewart was a two-time WNBA MVP and led the Storm in their second consecutive championship in less that two years. With 37 points and 15 rebounds, Stewart had an outstanding Game 1 performance. This made her the first player in the Finals to average 35 points. She scored an average of 28.3 and shot 65 per cent from the field for the series. Stewart is also a Hall of Fame candidate.
Phoenix Sun's Diana Taurasi wins first WNBA title
Diana Taurasi is a former NBA basketball player who is currently the leading scorer of the WNBA. She has won the MVP award, three WNBA champions and three WNBA league championships. She also has four Olympic gold medals and five WNBA scoring titles. Additionally, she won three NCAA championships for the University of Connecticut. She has also been a successful player overseas, winning six Euroleague champions.
After winning her first WNBA championship, Diana Taurasi is now the most decorated player in WNBA history. This victory was also the beginning of a long and distinguished career for the 22 year-old. Taurasi was the first player to win the championship with a Western Conference team. She will be inducted into league's Hall of Fame by 2020.

Seattle Storm's Sue Bird leads Seattle in victory
Sue Bird takes the Seattle Storm to their first WNBA champion. The Storm won the Western Conference standings with a record of 26-8. Bird, who was a top draft pick in 2001, was the team's leader. Bird was an offensive force and quick player that allowed the Storm win on the perimeter against the Washington Mystics. The Storm shot 13 to 26 from three point range and outscored their counterparts 21 points. The Mystics went 8/23 from behind the arc in Game 3. They finished the series with a record of eleven for sixty.
Bird was the Storm's most important star in the playoffs. She came up big in Game 5 against Phoenix Mercury. Bird, despite wearing a mask because of a broken nose scored just 10 points and drained clutch jumpers in order to send the Mercury home.
